It all comes down to this.
Our 2011 & 2008 ECNL Blue Girls teams are headed to Richmond, Virginia for the ECNL Girls Finals beginning Wednesday, July 10. Each team is in the Champions League Quarterfinals for their respective age groups.
The two teams punched their ticket to the Finals following stellar performances as last month's ECNL Girls National Playoffs. After being two of six FC Stars Girls teams to reach Seattle, both sides topped their group to advance to the knockout rounds. A comfortable 3-0 Win over PDA booked the 2011's spot in the final 8, but it wasn't as easy for the 08's. After a thrilling match finished 2-2 against MLVA, our girls went perfect from the penalty spot to move on to the Quarterfinals.
Teams across all age groups are guaranteed two games at the ECNL Girls Finals. Quarterfinal games will be played on Wednesday while the Semifinals and consolation round games will be held on Thursday. Only the finalists in each age group will advance to Championship Saturday. All games will be played at the West Creek Complex in Richmond, VA.
FC Stars is one of nine teams with multiple participants at ECNL Girls Finals and the only ECNL New England Conference club to earn the distinction.
Over 1,000 college, professional, and national team scouts attended the ECNL Girls Playoffs last month; this week's Finals are expected to garner a similar level of star power. To view the list of attending college coaches, visit here.
